  • Progressive side bets: Games such as Caribbean Stud Poker often contain one of these. You typically place a wager (a dollar is the normal amt.) to try to win a bonus jackpot that could be upwards of twenty-five thousand dollars. Although big jackpots like this are extremely tempting, they are also particularly complicated to win. You would have to get a Royal Flush in order to hit this wager. Also, imagine this- you wager twenty hands and make the side bet each time. That is 20 dollars you could have used towards the real game bet in place of a sucker bet. Imagine what you could have been able to win at a wager with greater odds using that 20 dollars.
  • Individual number bets in Roulette: This is especially true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has two zeroes on the wheel, as opposed to European Roulette, which has only 1. This shifts the overall casino edge from 2percent with a single zero wheel to a huge five% in American. The individual number bet has just a one in thirty eight chance of winning, which are very big odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red wagers alternately which have a much lower house edge.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and regardless of how you play it, the house edge can be a whopping 25%. No, that is not a error. Due to the huge set of numbers you must choose, it is not advisable to wager on Keno very much. A few times for enjoyment, maybe. But don’t spend all your money on it or you will immediately find yourself broke.
