Online Casino Sucker Wagers — Part One

- Proposition wagers in Craps: These Craps bets basically means you’re betting that a specific thing might happen on the upcoming roll. For instance, you may make the ‘hard ways’ bet, which basically means that you’re betting that the shooter will toss a 4, 6, 8 or 10 by tossing a double. These wagers offer a casino advantage of anywhere from 9 to 11%. This is a massive house edge, and it is very abnormal that they hit.
- Tie wager in Baccarat: This is a wager that neither the house nor the player will come away with a win, but that both hands will tie. This is a very atypical situation in online Baccarat, therefore the house advantage is high. At fourteenpercent casino edge, this is the very definition of a sucker bet.
- Insurance bet in Black Jack: Although chemin de fer has one of the smallest casino advantages (and there is also a lot of talent involved), this is a sucker bet. Dependent on how many decks of cards are being played and the table rules, the casino edge of this is at least five percent, but can be as great as 14%. Only very accomplished card counters can make this bet function for them, and even then it’s still a sucker wager.
