The online gambling market in the UK has increased two fold in 5 years, with more than a million bettors regularly gambling over the web. According to a poll carried out by the Dept. of Culture, Media and Sport, UK gamblers make up approx. 1/3rd of the Old World’s estimated total of three point three million net bettors.

The typical sum wagered by every gambler is estimated at one thousand pounds, with the European industry now valued at £3 500 000 000 each year.

Among the seventy net gambling sites in the UK, none are gambling web sites promoting casino card games like poker and chemin de fer. A majority of the world’s 2,000 online betting casinos are based in places with questionable web wagering regulations. Antigua and Costa Rica are responsible for for more than 1,000 sites between them.

The Government in the UK is looking to introduce practices and a tax setup to legalize the operating of the web gaming sector. With such laws in place, web betting activities would be monitored and the business will achieve even bigger heights in the next few years.
